Aoife Corrigan, BSc OT

Aoife graduated from Northumbria University with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy and has been working as an Occupational Therapist since 2020. Since graduating, she has gained experience across a variety of settings and countries, including Australia, different parts of the UK, and Ireland, while also drawing on her background in Occupational Therapy during time spent in Switzerland and Portugal.

She is especially passionate about working in paediatrics, where she can build meaningful therapeutic relationships with children, young people, and their families, while supporting each child’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. She is committed to helping children and young people become as independent and confident as possible in their everyday lives.

Her experience includes supporting children across a range of areas, including fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, mental health, and social and emotional communication. She finds great joy in seeing children grow in confidence, develop new skills, and become more able to participate in the daily activities and meaningful occupations that matter most to them.

Since graduating, Aoife has developed a particular interest in paediatrics and in understanding the role of the sensory system in everyday life. This aligns closely with the Sensory Kids approach, which focuses on supporting each child’s nervous system so they can respond to sensory information in a more organised and balanced way, helping them to thrive in daily activities with greater independence and enjoyment.

Outside of work, Aoife enjoys staying active through a variety of sports, as well as reading and music. She also loves travelling and exploring different cultures.
