About this Assessment
A School Observational Assessment is designed to uncover how your child participates, copes, and learns within the school environment. Many children who thrive at home can face different challenges at school, where expectations for attention, organisation, task completion, transitions, and social interaction are very different.
This assessment helps identify patterns such as:
- Trouble concentrating or remaining on task
- Restlessness or frequent fidgeting
- Difficulty starting or completing work
- Challenges following routines or transitions
- Needing movement to stay focused
- Social or playground challenges
- Sensory or environmental factors that impact learning
The aim is to understand why these difficulties are happening and what practical supports can be put in place at home and school.
We observe your child in both the classroom and the yard, as well as gather insights from teachers, to gain a complete picture of their daily school experience. The result is a tailored set of recommendations that help teachers and parents support your child in meaningful, realistic ways.
