About this Treatment
Occupational Therapy helps children who may be finding everyday tasks harder than expected for their age. These challenges can appear in fine motor skills, play, schoolwork, sensory processing, and self-care activities.
Common areas we support include:
- Fine motor development (writing, cutting, using utensils, buttoning, tying shoes)
- Hand–eye coordination and visual–motor skills
- Oral motor skills such as chewing, feeding, and early speech development
- Sensory processing challenges, including over- or under-sensitivity to sound, touch, or movement
- Self-care routines, such as dressing, brushing teeth, bathing, and organising belongings
- Attention, emotional regulation, and confidence during daily activities
Occupational Therapy may be beneficial if your child:
- Struggles with tasks like handwriting, using scissors, tying laces, or feeding themselves
- Avoids certain textures, clothing, sounds, or activities
- Has difficulty focusing, sitting still, or following routines
- Becomes easily overwhelmed in busy or noisy environments
- Shows delayed play skills, coordination challenges, or frustration with everyday tasks
Our goal is to help your child feel capable, confident, and supported in all the “jobs” of childhood — from play to learning to independence.
Our Process
1. Occupational Therapy Assessment
We begin with a full assessment to understand your child’s motor skills, sensory processing, daily routines, and developmental strengths and needs.
2. Personalised Therapy Plan
Based on the evaluation, we develop a tailored therapy programme targeting your child’s specific goals, such as fine motor skills, sensory regulation, coordination, or independence.
3. Play-Based Sessions
Therapy feels like play — because play is how children learn best. We use engaging, evidence-based methods to build new skills in a fun and motivating way.
4. Parent & School Collaboration
We work closely with families and teachers to ensure strategies are practical and consistent across home, school, and therapy environments.
5. Ongoing Progress Reviews
We monitor progress regularly and adjust goals and strategies as your child grows and develops.
